"Bisci's Verdicchio are among the best of the Marche. I especially like the fact that they are very faithful to the Matelica terroir: steely and refined, with a dry Riesling-like quality to them." Ian D'Agata, Vinous Media
Hi Folks, Italy is a real treasure trove when it comes to finding hidden wine gems especially from relatively unknown regions which don't receive huge numbers in tourism; one of the best examples of this is Le Marche on the Eastern side of the Italian peninsula. The regions local white varietal Verdicchio di Matelica has essentially put Le Marche on the map with centuries of wine-growing tradition. One of the finest expressions from this part of the World is the Bisci Verdicchio di Matelica. This is highlighted by bright aromas of fragrant aromas of apple, pear, peach, citrus blossom, herbs, flinty minerality and honey. Steely, silk and fresh!
This has been gathering a lot of plaudits in International wine circles in recent years most notably among 2 x of the foremost Italian wine authorities Antonio Galloni and Ian D'Agata who have written about this in glowing terms.
''Crushed stone and smoky minerals set the stage, giving way to crisp green apple, sage and almonds as the 2020 Verdicchio di Matelica blossoms in the glass. This is silky in feel, contrasted by citrus-tinged orchard fruits and brilliant acidity. Savory, and packed full of zesty energy, it finishes long with an almost-umami sensation. As is usually the case, Bisci once again overdelivers.'' Vinous Media
'Bisci has really impressed me over the course of recent tastings, with a portfolio of higher-elevation Verdicchio that speaks of variety and terroir above all else. Their Verdicchio di Matelica is no exception. Honied florals, honeydew melon, crisp yellow apple and hints of citrus set the stage for soothing textures that balance ripeness of fruit against stimulating mineral tones. All is in perfect balance here.'' Antonio Galloni (Previous Vintage Review)

''I really enjoyed the finesse and minerally intensity of this, while its lightness of weight made for moreishness.'' Huon Hooke (Previous Vintage Review)
''Acknowledged for crafting exceptional Verdicchio di Matelica, the Bisci estate is devoted to quality and employs methods such as bottling only wine from first run must, and actually skipping vintages when not entirely satisfied.'' Cara Rutherford
''Bisci is one of the top producer's of Verdicchio from the Verdicchio di Matelica appellation in Le Marche.'' Tom Hyland, Forbes Magazine
