''Its an expressive and mineral driven Pinot Noir of wonderful delicacy, but with solid fruit intensity which forms it’s perception of depth flavors. The mouth feel and length are quite impressive.'' 91 Points, grapelive.com

This Pinot Noir from the Marsannay appellation is produced from vineyards averaging 50 years in age, hence some serious quality. The wine favours pure fruit flavor, brightness and elegance over richness or power. It is a finer and fresher style that suits mid term drinking. It has classic Pinot flavours with ripe cherry, blackberry and plums. It is fruit driven with a suppleness. However, this is Burgundy, so there is tannin and some savoury, herbal spice, and a tangy finish. Pretty, perfumed, textured and elegant. If my word is not enough for you... than how about some of these rave reviews from the Vinous World!
''It way over delivers for the price. its an expressive and mineral driven Pinot Noir of wonderful delicacy, but with solid fruit intensity which forms it’s perception of depth flavors. While starting with classic Burgundy subtly and brightness things gain a darker feel with air allowing layers of black cherry, strawberry and earthy vine picked berries to come through on the medium bodied palate, the mouth feel and length are quite impressive. Rose petals and cedar notes along with a mixed spice note add to the whole here, there’s no question this will surprise a few people, the vintage with it’s concentrated ripe profile certainly helped and the old vines give a charm that with put a smile on many a face, it did mine.'' 91 Points, grapelive.com
“Collotte's 2015 Marsannay Vieilles Vignes is excellent, opening in the glass to reveal aromas of ripe cherries, blackberries and plums that's currently quite fruit driven, revealing little in the way of the savory complexity to come. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, supple and youthfully reserved, with a layered mid-palate and fine tannins.'' William Kelley, Wine Advocate Magazine
"Philippe Collotte's Marsannay are among the most distinctive of the appellation and are well worth checking out." Antonio Galloni
“Young Philippe Collotte is one of the several new stars of Marsannay” Wine Advocate Magazine
