Ellena Giuseppe Barolo La Morra DOCG 2018

if you adore your Nebbiolo's from Piedmont, and lets be honest who doesn't?... and at a price that is not astronomical for Barolo, than I encourage you take advantage of this special offer today!

Barolo in the Northern Italian region of Piedmont, is for many people their favourite wine, a joie de vivre; often referred to as the king of Italian wine. However given its status and growing reputation its comes with a premium price for most budgets. That's why we're so excited to bring to you one of the best value Barolo's in Australia. This Barolo comes from a small family owned winery Ellena Giuseppe with over 50 years of tradition. Although they may not be one of the biggest Barolo Estate's, the winemaker Matteo Giuseppe definitely comes with a serious reputation having worked at 2 of Piedmont's most endearing wineries Braida and most significantly the revered Elio Altare estate. These experience's have definitely shaped the 2018 Ellena Giuseppe Barolo La Morra DOCG which gravitates to more of a refined and elegant style with bright fruit flavours, prominent florals along with those traditional Barolo characteristics of licorice, minerals, spice, cassis and well balanced acidity. Despite being one of the smaller wineries in Barolo, its reassuring to know that the quality produced by Ellena Giuseppe has in recent times caught the attention of some of the best writer's on Barolo who have the enviable task of tasting Piedmont's most noteworthy wine.

"Here's a great value for Nebbiolo watchers. The Ellena Giuseppe Barolo displays soft tannins, bright fruit flavors and balanced acidity. The bouquet is redolent of wild berry, cassis, tilled earth and blue flower.'' Wine Advocate Magazine

"Aromatic, offering floral, licorice and spice notes surrounding a core of cherry. The fruit is more prominent on the palate, where accents of mint and leather also peek through. On the elegant side, with fine balance and length.'' Wine Spectator Magazine

”Bright red fruit with tinges of violets, tobacco and citrus rind. Medium-bodied with lightly chewy tannins, bright acidity and more orange rind and a twist of nutty vanilla right at the end. Traditional feel to this. Tasty, too.” James Suckling

''The Barolo 2018 vintage has produced some delicious, open-knit and approachable wines due to moderate acidity and ripe tannins, as well as good complexity displayed. But mostly, it’s just very tasty!'' Aldo Fiordelli, Decanter Magazine

Now, its no secret that Barolo is getting more and expensive every year and upwards of $80 - $100+ is the new normal, however that is thankfully not the case here!  So if you adore your Nebbiolo's from Piedmont, and lets be honest who doesn't?... and at a price that is not astronomical for Barolo.
