Hi Folks, if there's one category that's missed/avoided the price rises over the last 12 months, it's wine from Southern Italy.  This particular red from Sicily is where good ol' fashioned value can still be found.  Case in point is the Feudo Arancio Riserva Rosso 2015.

''Lovely feel, easy feel, finessed and generally just delightful"

"Generous fruit driven length to finish"
Patrick Eckel

Feudo Arancio Riserva Rosso 2015 is 100% Nero d’Avola, with 7 years of age to boot, it now has the fine balance of a sauvory backbone while still showing delicious fruit.  But we're just not letting that alone sell the wine; we've come to the party with the price- you won't find it cheaper in Australia!

And the best wine reviewers in Australia have also come to the party, check these reviews out:

"The nero d’Avola is a juicy red-fruited delight unsullied by oak. The Riserva takes a step up with the best parcels of nero split between stainless steel (30%) and large format French oak. Juicy wild berry fruits lead the way with the oak building the structure, intensity and depth. The tannins are positive but not overwhelming. Try with osso bucco."  Peter Bourne, Gourmet Traveller Wine Guide

The wine is produced from Nero d’Avola with 30% aged in stainless steel tank and the remainder in French Oak for 8-10 months. The wine was then held in bottle for 12 months prior to release. A deep red in the glass, the nose has dark cherry and plum fruit with with charcuterie and faint vanillin spice. There is a fullness of fruit with broad brush tannins that fill the mouth. Plum and dark cherry fruit frame the mid palate with an impact of oak that is intertwined with fresh earth. Generous fruit driven length to finish." 93 Points, Patrick Eckel

"Black fruits, liquorice and wood-spice notes. Quite full-bodied, with a depth and presence of dark fruits and spice throughout. Definitely built around tannins. Long finish." 92 Points, Stuart Knox, The Real Review

"Aromatic wine of warm and yet fresh perfume, cherry-berry with whiffs of game meat, rose petal, faint woody spice. Sour sweet in the palate, pristine fruit character, spicy, slightly ferrous and good extension of flavour in a succulent roll of medium weight red wine. Very good finish of building, fine tannins. Lovely feel, easy feel, finessed and generally just delightful." 93 Points,  Price : $30.00. Mike Bennie, The Wine Front

This 2015 is a text book Southern Italian red, where savory and fruit flavours intertwine magnificently to make an interesting and enjoyable wine.  Add great reviews and a market best price and you've got a no brainer.
