Featuring the King and Queen of German wines, Riesling and Pinot Noir, through the eyes of three German Winemakers of the Year and three rising stars we believe may one day achieve the same title!
Our German Winemaker's of The Year 6 Pack contains 1 x wine each from the following:
Wagner Stempel Riesling Trocken 2016
Rheinhessen: ''This impressive young Germany riesling is tremendously intense and powerful, but also refined. The fragrance reminds of stone fruits both fresh and poached, with a steely touch and a dry but not austere balance. Great persistence.'' 96 Points, Huon Hooke
Ziereisen Weissburgunder Pinot Blanc 2017
Baden: "it’s a powerful rendition with lively, white stone fruit freshness and an exquisite line of minerality.
Reichsrat Von Buhl Riesling Trocken 2017
Pfalz: ''Its gorgeous and an outstanding value! Iris and lemon blossom on the nose anticipate the piquant and zesty aspects of a satin-textured palate, where a sense of extract sweetness supports further flavours of ginseng, white peach and sweet corn. This illustrates admirably how density and body are compatible - in the best instances, anyway - with playful animation.'' 90 Points, David Schildknecht, Vinous Media
Dreissigacker Riesling Trocken 2017
Rheinhessen: Light in colour. Its fruit driven with aromas of tropical fruits and a hint of lemon zest. On the palate it is elegant, well-balanced with flavours of yellow and green fruit, minerality and a long finish.
Dr H Thanisch Riesling Kabinett 2016
Mosel: The bouquet is soft and subdued, reserved and ripe, with some stone fruit aromas. The wine is very intense, bright and crisp in the mouth with lime and lemon acidity and very crisp cool-grown riesling flavour. There is attractive sweetness creating a juiciness in the middle. There's a slight grip and the finish is soft, balanced and seamless.'' 92 Points, Huon Hooke
Brogsitter Pinot Noir 2018
Ahr: This has intense fruits of the forest in it. There's also a little bit of savouriness, and look out for some really nice cherry and a really beautiful, clean acidity on the finish. It's just a lovely easy drinking light to medium-bodied red.
