''Pure black fruit within the wide bouquet, black cherry and blackberry and dried thyme. There’s sound richness, good layered content, and tannins that stretch out well. The Grenache gives a plum presence, and there’s something of blood oranges towards the finish. There is good, well-knit content. There are flashes of Mourvèdre darkness here and there, the length genuine and fresh.'' 4/5 Stars, John Livingstone-Learmonth, DrinkRhone.com
“This is possibly the best domaine in the entire Côtes du Rhône-Villages area. The wines are full, intense and concentrated, surprisingly sophisticated. At less than half the price of a top Châteauneuf this Domaine offers splendid value for money.” Clive Coats, MW
After a number of vintages, Grenache is back in the driving seat bringing here yet this wine offers more complexity than a single variety can offer. It shows the depth and power of the vintage with a complex, lifted, spicy nose that suggests blood orange, dark cherry fruits and spice. The palate is rich and powerful with deep plum, cacao powder and star anise. Old vine depth from 80 Year old vines at a competitive price from the superb 2016 vintage.
“This truly rare vintage is a new benchmark. The growing season was warm during the day but cool at night, with an unusually large diurnal swing that led to slow, even ripening across all varieties, while maintaining acidity. Reds are laden with fruit, yet extremely racy and fresh in feel.” 99/100, Wine Spectator Magazine
“Unmissable. This is one of the best vintages of the past few decades. Do not miss it,” Decanter Magazine
