''The equal #1 Best Value Red in Bordeaux from 163 wines tasted. A Top Buy!'' Decanter Magazine
Ronan by Clinet is a passion project of Ronan Laborde, owner of the famed Château Clinet in Pomerol. Folks, this is a standout. The top German wine critic Markus del Monego calls him “one of Bordeaux’s most gifted youngsters” and this 7 year old wine we have today proves that. It's a wine that's swept the world, don't miss it...limited stocks for Australia.
"Incredibly aromatic and expressive nose full of ripe red fruits and floral scents. Smooth and sappy with bounds of energy and vibrancy. The red berry fruit feels really well worked, smooth and detailed, ripe but not too much so you get nuance and refinement to the overall impression. Succulent and just so tasty. Tannins are massy and chewy though also have a slightly chalky edge giving more texture and flavour detail. This is incredibly delicious and joyful, a perfect time to drink yet feels as if it has more life left in it yet. A top buy!" Georgina Hindle, Equal #1 Best Value Red in Bordeaux.'' Decanter Magazine
"The Merlot-dominated 2016 By Clinet (there's 5% Cabernet Franc) is a charming, already delicious effort that gives up elegant notes of chocolate-laced plums and dark fruits, notes of leafy herbs and truffle, medium to full body, and a layered, charming mouthfeel. It's a terrific Bordeaux to drink over the coming 7-8 years." #14 in Jeb Dunnuck’s Top 100 Red Wines of Year
"An extremely interesting value for money right bank Bordeaux made at the prestigious Château Clinet in Pomerol according to the same philosophy as the Grand Vin. The 2016 is a top year for Bordeaux and this vintage is therefore the perfect successor to the successful 2015." Onno Kleyn
"An old favourite this, almost pure Merlot (with 5% Cabernet Franc) from the team at the famous Pomerol estate of Château Clinet. It's a brisk red and black-fruited style, focused on fruit and its tannin and acid structure rather than oak. A gastronomic Bordeaux of good quality at a very fair price." Tom Cannavan
