A French white varietal with everything; complexity, terroir characteristics and age-ability.
Hi Folks, Muscadet is the life-blood of the Sauvion winemaking family, as they’ve been crafting wine at the meeting point of the Sèvre and Maine rivers on France’s Atlantic coast for nearly 100 years. Their Muscadet is a special selection of older-vine fruit that is aged on fine lees for more body and texture, while still preserving the tangy citrus kick that makes Muscadet so thirst-quenching.
From one of the oldest estates in the heart of the Sèvre et Maine region, their current release has that traditional minerality that we've come to appreciate in the best Muscadet's with a touch of richness, alongside citrus, apple fruit and notes of lime blossom and mint. However if you're new to the Muscadet varietal from France's Loire Valley and you still need a little more reassurance than you can put your minds at ease, as this has the seal of approval from the biggest French wine influencers!
"This has a charming nose of scented apricots and orange peel, lifted with notes of honeysuckle. There is a plush start to the palate, with all the charming fruit seen on the nose coming through here, set within a softly textured core. It is the soft citrus character that dominates. Plenty of charm here.'' The Wine Doctor
''A hint of tangerine zest and blossom honey, Elegant, white peach fruit, minerality with a pleasant fresh acid structure.'' Falstaff Wine Guide
''In this wine, ripe fruits edging on tropical flavors are allied to a crisp texture. Acidity matches the apple fruitiness, with hints of white peach.'' Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
‘'Muscadet is an exciting versatile wine especially for wine lovers who appreciate fresher, more mineral style. Muscadet has everything: complexity, terroir characteristics and age-ability.'' Decanter Magazine
