''Put this up against a village-level white Burgundy and prepare to be blown away by how good this wine really is.'' Tim Atkin
''Sandra Bravo described this as "the finest vintage of my life." Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate Magazine
One of Spain's most delicious and underrated white wines is White Rioja. Today we have on show the Sierra de Toloño Rioja Blanco 2021; arguably the best White Rioja in Australia under $30. Produced by one of the most talented winemaker's in Europe, Sandra Bravo, with her winery now classified in 2023 as First Growth status in Spain sitting comfortably alongside its biggest names. Her 2021 White Rioja has been described as the vintage of her life and after trying it recently I wholeheartedly agree! . This absolutely sings. Its bright, textured and beautifully aromatic. The palate shows incredibly freshness and vitality, medium bodied with citric and white floral characters alongside a gentle mineral finish. A blend of predominantly Viura with some Calagraño and Rojal.
''Medium-bodied, fresh, vibrant and tasty. Great value. Pure and fresh, with a floral touch and a tasty finish. From what Sandra Bravo described as "the finest vintage of my life." 92 Points, Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate Magazine
"The primary aromas of white flowers give way to an elegant and complex background, with subtle toasted notes. In the mouth it is enveloping and silky, with a powerful acidity that allows a long-lasting aftertaste. Put this up against a village-level white Burgundy and prepare to be blown away by how good this wine really is.'' 92 Points, Tim Atkin, MW
