''Fruit-driven, well-balanced and offers juiciness, minerality and a fine freshness. This expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy raspberry, small notes of crushed cherry and sweet spices.'' 96 Points, Vertde Vin Guide (France)
''The nose is aromatic and offers power and a fine grain. It reveals notes of raspberry, rose, small notes of blackberry associated with touches of grey pepper as well as discreet hints of nutmeg and sweet spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers juiciness, minerality and a fine freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy raspberry, small notes of crushed cherry associated with fine touches of violet, caramelization and tonka bean.'' 96 Points, Vertde Vin Wine Guide (France)
"A bright, expressive style, this Barolo features strawberry, cherry, floral aromas and flavors. Iron and tobacco accents flirt around the edges as the dense matrix of tannins emerges on the lingering finish." 93 Points, Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator Magazine
''Ripe and effusive, bright aromatics, quite floral and great potential ahead. Quite pure for nebbiolo with enough grip after extraction to send it further than many from Serralunga d’Alba down a crafty and well-designed road.'' Michael Godel
This long-keeping wine will breeze through the next decade effortlessly. It's a Barolo with a classic bouquet coming from the vine variety and the soil: hints of withered rose, undergrowth, prunes, liquorice and spices. A bright ruby red colour with an orange rim, fresh wine with a tart component and tannins sustaining a good structure. The aromas are elegant, with a good intensity. The fruit is sweet, with more evolved sensations echoing tobacco and dried herbs.
In so many ways, 2016 is all about being in the right place at the right time for Barolo. An ideal growing season with all the prerequisites for a great vintage comes at a time when so many winemakers are in their primes, past the stage of experimentation and settled into their own personal styles. The result is a vintage full of truly spectacular, breathtaking wines that captures all the pedigree that Nebbiolo and Barolo are capable of.'' Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
''What’s truly special about the 2016 Barolo's is not only do these wines display superb varietal purity as well as a sense of place, but in many cases, these wines are very approachable. The tannins are beautifully managed in most wines, and are supple, making them very appealing at present.'' Tom Hyland, Forbes.com
