''The Premier Cru Clos du Roi from Château de Chamirey displays a fragrant blackberry fruit with pronounced floral notes. The texture is more substantial than others in this cellar, with fine tannins. The acidity is fresh but does not stand out since it is well balanced. This very successful wine should drink well in a few years and age at least a decade after that.'' 92 Points, Charles Curtis, MW, Decanter Magazine
"The Château de Chamirey, one of the finest producers in Mercurey, owns about one-third of Clos du Roi, a 30-acre Premier Cru vineyard."Michael Apstein
This is a great value red Burgundy that has complexity and depth. It's spot on medium-bodied and exhibits ripe, red and black fruits encased in ripe, silky tannins. Just like Burgundy should.
