Montecalvi Chianti Classico 2023

This wine hails from our Montecalvi vineyard, made up of 95% Sangiovese complemented by 5% Canaiolo and (the increasingly rare) Canina Nera. The grapes are grown 250 meters asl on sandstone soils on clay, which give the wine its character and structure. Vinified with 25% whole bunches and macerated for at least 90 days, followed by 18-month aging in third use French oak tonneaux, which gives additional complexity and depth to the wine. 

Montecalvi Chianti Classico is a beautiful wine from this famous appellation of Tuscany. Montecalvi's wine history goes back to the 1400's and their specialty is Sangiovese.
