Alain Jaume Cotes du Rhone Rouge 2022

"A serious Côtes-du-Rhône, fruit-driven and well-structured. Medium- to full-bodied with fine tannins. A silky core of berries blends with a solid frame of tannins on the palate. Creamy, chocolatey finish.'' 91 Points, James Suckling

Hi Folks, for lovers of quality French wine, we've always held the belief that the best value wine in France is found in the legendary Rhone Valley wine region. With a diverse array of varietal specific appellations including Lirac, Cotes du Rhone, Gigondas, Saint Joseph, Chateaunuef du Pape, the number of appellations and distinct styles is almost endless! This of course, applies to their wineries as well, and one winery that certainly showcases this phenomenon better than most is the 199-year-old Alain Jaume Estate. Since 1826 they have become a family of artisans who serve the great terroir of the south of the Rhone Valley with the aim of producing tantalising wines from rich and ripe to smoother styles with a strong character and authentic flavours. And for us one of our favourite Reds from Alain Jaume and certainty its best value is the 2022 Cotes du Rhone Rouge. This displays all of those integral characteristics associated with the best of the region and has indeed left an indelible impression on those who've experienced it first hand!

"A serious Côtes-du-Rhône, fruit-driven and well-structured. It has notes of red berries, wild herbs, wafers and some baking spices. Medium- to full-bodied with fine tannins. A silky core of berries blends with a solid frame of tannins on the palate. Creamy, chocolatey finish.'' 91 Points, James Suckling

''Aromas of violets, purple plum and dark berries. Fine tannins on the palate with notes of dark berries, licorice and lots of savory notes, finishing dry with fine tannins.'' 91 Points, Don Winkler, International Wine Review

''Ripe red and black fruits, peppery herbs, lavender, and a hint of leather all emerge from the 2022 Côtes du Rhône, a charming, medium-bodied, balanced, delicious red with tons of character. The Alain Jaume winery continue to produce a bevy of brilliant wines. This is an impeccably run estate.'' Jeb Dunnuck

As for me, I adore the lush dark fruit flavours on show; fresh berries, wild raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry; with its silky-smooth tannins and hints of cocoa and spice. This will appeal to all fans of the Rhone Valley and lovers of ripe, lush, complex; medium-full bodied Reds. Enjoy!
