''A bright and vivid Vino Nobile di Montepulciano with cherry, violet and hibiscus aromas and hints of peach and lemon that follow through to a medium body. There are fine and integrated tannins and a vivid finish with lots of energy.'' 94 Points, James Suckling
''This expressive red features a beam of cherry fruit, with accents of earth, leather and almond. Round and balanced, with well-integrated tannins and lively acidity.'' 92 Points, Wine Spectator Magazine
''Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is one of Tuscany’s most iconic and historic red wines. Produced in a territory in the eastern part of the region, Vino Nobile is a Sangiovese-based wine that is generally categorized as one of the three great reds of Tuscany.'' Tom Hyland, Forbes.com
''Avignonesi's Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is my favourite example of that perfect Tuscan. This is one of the top three regions in the world for Sangiovese, and is probably the best example of complex red fruit expression.'' Emily Siegel, Forbes.com
Avignonesi is one of the oldest wineries in Italy. Like many historic estates, the origins of this emblematic winery parallel the movements of the Catholic Church. In 1377, when Pope Gregory XI moved the papal residence from Avignon, France back to Rome, one of the noble families who followed him to Italy eventually settled in Montepulciano, Tuscany and founded Avignonesi.
