“This has excellent fruit reserve and savoury undertone. The palate is well-defined and gently structural with appealing dried cherry. An excellent combination of sweet fruit and savouriness. It reveals subtle layers and nuances. A lovely wine.” 93 Points, Gourmet Traveller Wine Guide (Previous Vintage Review)

Established in the mid 1800s, Manuel Marchetti has been in charge of the family winery, since 1990. The estate was on e of the very first in the area to designate single vineyards on its labels (as early as the 1950s). In fact, one of Marcarini’s superb, historical crus is the 100-year-old Boschi di Berri, whose Dolcetto vines are the oldest in Italy, the only ones to have survived phylloxera and maintained indigenous rootstock. The Nebbiolo grapes for Barolo are grown within the original nucleus, high on the rolling terroir of La Morra: two celebrated, contiguous crus, Brunate and La Serra, close to the Marcarini home and winery.

The splendid "Lasarin" is produced from the grapes of the youngest Nebbiolo-Barolo vineyards and, in particular, from the Nebbiolo vineyard in Neviglie. The wine presents itself with a beautiful, subdued ruby-red color. Its full nose recalls flowers, raspberries and blackberries; in the mouth it is dry, balanced, velvety and enjoyably tannic, a legacy of the noble Nebbiolo grape. After a brief period of aging in the bottle, the wine becomes increasingly smooth and velvety.
