Domaine Séguinot-Bordet dates back to the 1590’s and is now managed by the young Jean-François Bordet who has recently taken over from his grandfather Roger Séguinot. Most of the 16 hectares of vineyards are located on the right bank of the Serein River benefiting from a perfect south / south-east exposition. Jean-François Bordet practises coolish fermentation and allows his wines to mature for 3-5 months on their lees; this maximises the contact and promotes a luscious style to the wines. His approach is clearly contemporary, but it delivers very stylish wines which fully express both the fruit and terroir.
"A classic Chablis nose is ripe yet fresh and flashes notes of green apple and minerality. There is better vibrancy to the racy medium-bodied flavors that exude evident minerality on the nicely detailed and notably dry finish.'' 91 Points, Allan Meadows, Burghound.com (Previous Vintage Review)
“Jean-Francois Bordet continues to drive his Domaine forward. This is a highly appealing Chablis which balances acidity, concentration of ripe fruit and a lovely subtle under-tow of salinity. A crisp, fresh Chablis which will drink well from young, but also age.” 92 Points, Andy Howard MW, Decanter Magazine (Previous Vintage Review)
This juicy, thirst-quenching Chablis highlights crisp green-apple and lemon flavors lifted by streaks of lime acidity and steely minerality. Medium bodied and zesty, this approachable but elegant dry white.'' 91 Points, Wine Enthusiast Magazine (Previous Vintage Review)
''Domaine Séguinot-Bordet Chablis is a bone-dry, zesty and mouth-watering Chablis with crisp and crunchy green apple, white stone-fruit, liquid lemon zest flavours ending on a briny mineral note.'' Natalie Maclean (Previous Vintage Review)
