Hi Folks, Heidi Schröck might be the coolest and most influential female winemaker in Austria. The first woman from her wine region of Burgenland to be a Master of Viticulture and winemaking. Heidi has gathered great experience from places like South Africa and Germany and brought it all back to her native Austria. The Schrock family are an institution in Austrian and European wine circles being producer's of Austrian wine in the famed Burgenland region for more than 300 years. Heidi took over the famous winery from her parents more than 40 years ago and has since spent much of her time reviving traditional wines of her Austro-Hungarian forefathers. That time and dedication to her work have certainly paid off having been named an Austrian Winemaker of the Year and has recently been joined by her twin sons Johannes & Georg in bringing through the next generation of Schröck winemakers.
One of her latest creations is the 2024 Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) which delivers vibrant yet seamless layers of citrus, apple, pear, and gentle tropical fruit, with subtle floral and spice notes creating aromatic complexity. The palate unveils fruit-driven textures that are refined, mineral‑clean, and decidedly dry finishing with precision and lingering freshness.
