Bortoluzzi is a family-run estate in Gradisca d’Isonzo in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, established in 1982 and today run by the second generation of the family. Their Pinot Grigio is made from 100% Pinot Grigio, with the grapes harvested by hand and whole-bunch pressed before fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature. The wine then remains on its lees until March, helping build texture while retaining freshness.
The 2024 is a fresh but relatively generous expression of Pinot Grigio, with ripe pear, apple and citrus alongside floral notes and a subtle mineral edge. It has more texture and structure than many simple examples of the variety, balanced by clean acidity and a dry, persistent finish. WineAlign’s panel reviewed the 2024 release at 89 points, noting its citrus-driven fruit, fleshy texture and savoury character.
