Fitapreta explores the traditional grape varieties of Portugal’s Alentejo region. Its 2025 Ancestral Branco brings together Roupeiro, Rabo de Ovelha, Trincadeira das Pratas, Alicante Branco and Arinto from old, organically farmed vineyards on granite soils. Citrus aromas and a mineral edge lead into a generously textured palate, balanced by fresh acidity and a long, fruit-driven finish.
Hand-picked at night and whole-bunch pressed, the grapes ferment with indigenous yeasts, predominantly in stainless steel with 10% in neutral oak, followed by maturation on lees. Serve with grilled fish or fresh seafood. 92 points, James Suckling: “Aromas of lemons, austere stones, unripe pears and stone fruit.”
