''A solid and compressed Gamay with cherry and ripe-strawberry character, fine tannins and a medium finish.'' 92 Points, James Suckling
''The fresh and lively 2020 release has wonderful spice intermingled with crunchy red fruit flavors. This is a wine I would put in my cellar.'' 92 Points, Michael Apstein, Winereviewonline.com
''The chateau is named after the capitans who controlled Juliénas. This partially wood-aged Cru Beaujolais from the 30-acre vineyard is richly structured, with some fine tannins as well as juicy black fruits.'' 91 Points, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
''Juliénas is one of the harder to find Beaujolais Cru Gamays in Australia. This is a particularly likeable expression of it. In the glass, the 2020 release has crisp red raspberry aromatics that are textbook in expression. The palate is red fruited, taut and provides chirpy and enjoyable drinking.'' Sean Mitchell, GrapeObserver.com
The vineyards of the cru of Juliènas are based around the village of the same name which in turn is named after Julius Caesar. Juliènas Gamays are often considered to be one of the fuller, deeper styles of Beaujolais with more lasting power than some of the other Crus. Both Regnie and Juliènas Cru appellations lay claim to be to site of the first vineyards planted in Beaujolais by the Romans.
