Inama began in 1964, when Giuseppe Inama purchased his first vineyard on Monte Foscarino in the heart of Soave Classico. Foscarino is the family’s traditional expression of the appellation, made from Garganega grown on volcanic basalt soils in vineyards between 100 and 200 metres above sea level.
The 2023 combines elderflower, iris and chamomile with a deep mineral character, layered texture and a savoury almond finish. Fermentation is divided between stainless steel, large casks and seasoned French oak barriques, followed by six months of bâtonnage. Eric Guido of Vinous awarded it 94 points, noting “lime zest, sweet sage, crushed green apples and a subtle whiff of spice.”
