Maxime Graillot 'Domaine Des Lises' Crozes Hermitage Rouge 2022

Domaine des Lises is the estate of Maxime Graillot, son of renowned Northern Rhône producer Alain Graillot. This Crozes-Hermitage Syrah comes from organically managed vines planted in the 1980s near Beaumont-Monteux, where gravel and alluvial stones provide freely draining soils. The 2022 fermented naturally in concrete before maturation in seasoned Burgundy barrels and larger oak casks.

Black cherry and dark berry flavours are complemented by black olive, liquorice and pepper, with firm tannins and a lingering mineral finish. There is generous fruit here, balanced by savoury depth and freshness. Jamie Goode awarded the 2022 vintage 94 points, describing it as “Concentrated and dense with grippy tannins under the sweet black fruits”.
