Nanclares y Prieto ‘Dandelion’ Rias Baixas Albariño 2022

''A cut-above, Albariño with a zesty, pithy citrussy energy, with saline minerals and served with a mouthwatering acidity but with notes of fennel and dill and superb depth of flavour.'' 94 Points, David Williams, Decanter Magazine
''A cut-above, Albariño with a zesty, pithy citrussy energy, the fruit dipped in saline minerals and served with a mouthwatering acidity but with notes of fennel and dill and superb depth of flavour. To describe it is to induce cravings of the best kind.'' 94 Points, David Williams, Decanter Magazine

''Nanclares y Prieto are among the best examples of the Albarino variety. This is an excellent introduction to their line, pure, fresh, deep, textured and mineral, with floral, herbal and fruit flavors. It’s the sort of wine that always seems to hold a little back, which keeps you moving toward that next sip in an effort to unravel its full dimension.” Eric Asimov, the New York Times

''Nanclares y Prieto, led by the humble and hard working Alberto Nanclares and his youthful and talented partner Silvia Prieto are one of best producers and super stars from the Cambados area of the Rias Baixas region.  If you’ve not had these Nanclares y Prieto wines, you need really should, they are some of the most delicious being made in the Rias Baixas! This has fast become the go to Albariño estate in Spain’s Rias Baixas with their handcrafted wines showcasing unique Atlantic influenced Albariños grown at sea level on a mix of sand, clay and granite soils that allow these wines to display a deep saline quality as well as a striking mineral core.'' Nanclares makes some of the most stunning examples of the Albariño that we know. Their Dandelion is where value and complexity intersect. This hails from one of Rias Baixas most dynamic producers. A wine that celebrates racy acidity, with mouthwatering notes of zesty, ripe citrus fruits layered with crunchy green apple. Thanks to a tickle of lees ageing, it also has a fleshy texture and brings fantastic balance to the vibrant acid.  The wine flaunts a nicely expressive complexity with herbs, stone fruits, and gentle spices. There's a silky depth of complexity with a nice refinement.
