Salwey Kaiserstuhl Pinot Noir 2022

Salwey is a highly regarded VDP estate in Oberrotweil, specialising in dry wines from the classic Pinot varieties of Baden’s Kaiserstuhl. This Pinot Noir—known locally as Spätburgunder—is sourced from old vines planted in selected loess-soil parcels around Oberrotweil and matured partly in large oak and seasoned barriques.

The 2022 is a darker-fruited, gently structured expression, showing black cherry and plum with subtle spice, lively acidity and fine, softly gripping tannins. Wine Enthusiast awarded it 90 points, describing it as a “balanced, compelling Pinot with depth and a long, satisfying finish.”
