Schlosskellerei Gobelsburg is one of the oldest wineries of Austria with a documented history back to 1171. Cistercian monks originating in Burgundy and spreading all over Europe at that time, were donated their first vineyards in the Danube area, close to the village of Langenlois. The monks of the monastery have been working and the vineyards until 1995. Since then Eva & Michael Moosbrugger have been custodians of this heritage winery.
''An aromatic, almost floral touch hovers above this wine's red cherry fruit. The palate is light, with a tingling edge of white pepper amid the pure cherry notes. The frame is light, the body sinuous and dry. It's elegant, measured and delicious, with a lovely fresh finish.'' Anne Krebiehl, Wine Enthusiast Magazine (Previous Vintage Review)
Kamptal: This wine exudes a shiny ruby red colour with a light violet tone. On the nose is fruitiness with hints of cherries along with spicy nuances. The full body with delicate notes makes this wine an all-around food companion.
