Via Nostrum Corbières Rouge 2019

Hi Folks, The gorgeous French wine region of Languedoc-Roussillon is possibly France's most underrated wine region home to some of South France's most historic appellation's including including Minervois, Picpoul de Pinet, St Chinian and Corbières. It is the latter to which today's newsletter pays homage. Languedoc-Roussillon is truly one of the rising French Wine regions and travel destinations for wine lover's seeking something a little different and unique and if this happens to be your first-time hearing about Corbières than what better way to start than with one of the best value sub-$30 reds available from the revered 2019 vintage!

The 2019 Via Nostrum Corbières Rouge takes its name and inspiration all the way back to the Roman Empire recalling the Via Domitia, the ancient Roman road which intersected what ultimately would become famous wine appellations in the Languedoc, including Corbières. This blend of Syrah and grenache is highlighted by succulent blackcurrant and blackberry aromas effortlessly give way to spice and toasty oak. A subtle herbal note and the velvety tannins add a touch of elegance to the finish.  And it's good to know that we're not the only ones that have been impressed, as this has quickly gained quite a following from some of our favourite scribes.
