Schlosskellerei Gobelsburg is one of the oldest wineries of Austria with a documented history back to 1171. Cistercian monks originating in Burgundy and spreading all over Europe at that time, were donated their first vineyards in the Danube area, close to the village of Langenlois. The monks of the monastery have been working and the vineyards until 1995. Since then Eva & Michael Moosbrugger have been custodians of this heritage winery.
''Yeast, miso and green pear make for an appetizing nose. The evident spritz on the palate makes these flavours pop even more in the mouth where lemon freshness and white pepper frame the lovely pear fruit. This is slender, dry but very expressive.'' 91 Points, Anne Krebiehl, Wine Enthusiast Magazine (Previous Vintage Review)
''Very appealing, with a jolt of electricity from the acidity fueling the peach, white raspberry and ground ginger notes. Tobacco and white chocolate accents linger on the long, pure-tasting finish.'' Wine Spectator Magazine, (Previous Vintage Review)
Kamptal: This is highlighted by aromas of apples, flowers, papaya, herbs. It has a hint of subtle sweetness; with well-integrated acidity and a fine finish.
